Southend Victoria Station

The station is situated in the Victoria Circus, which underwent a £7 million revamp in 2011 - it was then that The Return, a £50,000 sculpture by Belgian artist Rene Julien, was placed in front of the station. Depicting a couple gleefully greeting, presumably after a long journey to Southend Victoria, it captures the romance of train journeys perfectly.

Southend Victoria is a terminus station, closing the Shenfield to Southend Line, and is perfectly positioned in the town centre. Visitors can reach the Southend Library, the Central Museum - featuring a Saxon gold haul - and the pedestrianized High Street in a matter of minutes. The seaside is of course the main attraction, with seven miles of seafront, the world's longest Pleasure Pier, and family-friendly attractions such as the Adventure Island Fun Park and Sea Life Adventure Aquarium.
