Arriving at Walton on The Naze station on the train, we will leave the station and head down towards the pier and the colourful beach huts that line the promenade. From here we will head North along the beach past the seafront architecture of this hidden gem on the North Essex Coast.  Past the Naze Tower and Discovery Centre and into the John Weston Nature reserve, where ancient meets recent history with fossils and artefacts strewn along the beach of Pennyhole Bay. Around the Nature reserve and back to the Naze tower, to climb the stairs to the top of this incredible structure (not suitable for those with accessibility issues) for a view of the North Essex and South Suffolk coast (weather permitting), don’t forget to bring your camera, you will need it!

Tea and cake are available to purchase at both the Tower and the Discovery Centre before we return via the Walton RNLI for a short talk about the 200 years of the Lifeboats in the UK, to the Station.

You will be free to catch any train back to Colchester.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN
