Hockley Station Open Day

21 July 2025

Last week we celebrated Hockley station’s open day! Organised by the dedicated station adopters and supported by the Essex & South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership, the event welcomed local residents and visitors to explore the station’s transformation. Guests were treated to homemade cakes, refreshments, and friendly conversations, all set against the backdrop of beautifully maintained gardens that showcased the adopters’ hard work and creativity.

Highlights included tours of the station’s new community engagement display in the waiting room, and information about the station’s history and environmental initiatives. Volunteers shared stories of how the station has evolved into a welcoming, eco-conscious space, thanks to ongoing community involvement. The event also served as a platform to promote sustainable travel and the importance of local railways in connecting people and places.

The day was a resounding success, reinforcing the value of community rail partnerships and the positive impact of local engagement. It left visitors inspired and proud of the station.
