Harwich Town garden opening

29 September 2025

Harwich Town celebrated the official opening of its new station garden on a landmark day — the 200th anniversary of Britain’s railway. The event was made even more special by the attendance of the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, who joined station adopters, volunteers, and community members to mark the occasion.

Thanks to the dedication of local volunteers, the garden now features vibrant planting, pollinator-friendly flowers, and a peaceful seating area for passengers. One local resident shared, “I’d like to thank your team for the fantastic work they’ve done transforming the old wasteland beside Harwich Town station, and for the brilliant photo boards installed on Tuesday.”

This project highlights the power of community involvement in enhancing rail spaces and promoting sustainability.
