Last week’s Crouch Valley Carers Thank You Event organised by Kinder Essex and supported by the ESSCRP, offered a relaxed day out for people living with dementia and their carers. Attendees were welcomed by staff and volunteers before boarding the train, where live music and singalongs created a friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. After the train journey, everyone boarded a bus to the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, where the singing and music continued, making the journey lively and entertaining.
Once at the club, guests sat down to a freshly prepared lunch and had the chance to chat, share experiences, and enjoy the riverside views. Carers valued the chance to meet others facing similar challenges and to spend time in a welcoming environment. The day was a great success and showed how community rail activities can help people connect and feel included.
