ESSCRP spent Community Rail Week 2026 out across the network, running stalls at the South Woodham Ferrers bandstand, Chelmsford Library, Billericay station and connecting with people on trains. The team talked through walking routes and nearby visitor attractions reachable by train, promoted sustainable travel and station adoption, answered questions about services, accessibility and ticketing, and encouraged day‑trip ideas and active travel.
Alongside the stalls and on‑train engagement, the team used the week to shine a spotlight on the many places that can be explored by rail, celebrating local heritage, green spaces and community events; they also highlighted upcoming projects, encouraged potential new volunteers to get involved, and shared stories, photos and updates across social media to keep the momentum going and inspire even more people to discover what community rail has to offer.
