Hockley History Walk

24 September 2022 | 10am

Join us for a historic walking tour of Hockley. Led by a local historian the walk will depart from Hockley station at 10am on Saturday 24 September. The walk will be a very leisurely 3 miles with many stops to hear the stories and histories of the local landmarks that we pass on the way.

Taking in the historic buildings within the centre of the village, the route will then turn into Hockley Woods to loop us around the village before returning to the station. Whilst it is free to attend this event, please reserve your place via our Eventbrite page so we can be aware of numbers

Departing from Hockley station, it will take no more than 3 hours. Toilets are available at the station. In the final 20 minutes the route will pass the White Hart public house where refreshments can be purchased if desired.

The walk will take place whatever the weather. Please dress appropriately for the weather and walking conditions. Please note, whilst in Hockley Woods we will be following unmade footpaths. Well behaved, friendly, sociable dogs are welcome if kept on a lead at all times.

Please arrive in sufficient time. There is parking (payable) at the station or why not consider coming by train.
