Caroline has recently taken over as station adopter at Clacton station. In order to brighten up the station she has been busy planting over 40 colourful plants in the tubs which are on the platforms, the concourse and at the front of the station.
Whilst experienced adopter, Caroline, is striving to make the station as bright and cheerful as possible, it’s all about trying to find a balance between having plenty of plants which are pleasing to the eye and enough ‘prickly’ plants which keep the seagulls from pecking away at them.
Caroline has been volunteering as a station adopter for over two years, firstly helping out at Great Bentley station, then taking over at Walton. Now at Clacton, she could really do with finding some other willing volunteer adopters with green fingers to lend a helping hand. With lots of watering and dead heading to do to ensure the plants thrive, there is plenty to keep budding volunteers busy!
